The Mini-Dust is a .049 powered delta. This model was designed to compete in 1/2a pylon racing. This model is extremely fast! When placed up against the competition which mostly consisted of Ace warbirds and GLH's,the Mini-Dust would finish 2 1/2 laps ahead of everyone. I powered mine with a Norvel .049 which is a great little engine.
The airframe is constructed with carbon tube, plywood, balsa, spruce and some kevlar thread. This makes for a very light airframe. All up flying weight is 13 ounces. The delta planform on the Mini-Dust provides 225 square inch's of wing area. Landings are a breeze with this model.
It would be interesting to electrify this model and I may do say in the near future. A speed 400 and 8 cells would be my choice, hmmmmmm!

I did electrify the Mini-dust using a Speed 400 and 8 cells. This is a great flyer on electric power. Not as fast as it was with the .049 but certainly still a fairly lively model aircraft. Converting the Mini-dust to electric was fairly easy. The motor was simply tie wrapped on and batteries were held in with velcro. Two HS-55's were installed to control the elevons. The all up weight worked out to 16 ounces.
